How my life changed it’s course

My love of nature and adventure led me down an unusual career path. I was the first in my family to become an adventure guide. This was my ultimate dream job and I loved every minute of it! From the coordination of the trips to the slog up the mountain with my backpack full of gear for climbing.

However, one day, I woke up with excruciating pain in my neck and back. I had an unexpected injury and everything I was doing had come to an abrupt stop. How was I going to get through this major setback in my life?

My recovery was slow and somehow this gave me time to reflect. I had not thought about what I would do if I was unable to do the job I loved so much.

After weeks of physiotherapy, I was still not fully recovered. Weeks turned into months and I found myself with a strong need to help other struggling women.

We have all, at some point in our lives, found ourselves in a dark space, struggling to find our purpose.

Whether due to financial difficulties, emotional stress or even poor health, it is easy to fall into hopelessness or despair.

So what can we do to get through and rise above life’s setbacks?

One of the things I decided to do was to host workshops for women addressing various issues such as anxiety, stress and even how to market their business. This helped me as well because it brought me so much joy to be able to make a difference in other women’s lives.

While doing this I had to market these workshops using social media and I soon discovered that I really enjoyed the marketing aspect. This is what led me to take the Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program. I wanted to be more efficient in marketing my workshops in order to reach and help more women.
